Health Wise


                   A healthy life style is essential for everyone, especially important for growing teenagers. Unfortunately many youngsters lead an unhealthy life style. They mainly do not care about their food habits. They buy unhealthy takeaway food every day or even a few times a day. If someone eat takeaway food regularly, they are more likely to put on weight than eating fast food only occasionally.

              You may not have given a second thought about your diet. But it is worth remembering that how you look after your body now - what you eat and the lifestyle you live - will have a huge influence on your health when you reach your old age.

           Get into good health habits now and you'll reduce your risk of developing of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke. Eating a balanced diet, exercising and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes are excellent starting points!



Important points to be reconsider...


  • A balanced diet is essential for a teenager! They are in their growing age. Your meal should consist of one-third of starchy carbohydrates, one-third fruit and vegetables and the remaining third, protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, beans, eggs, or dairy. Fats and sugars should be kept to a minimum and enjoyed mainly as treats!
  •  Do Exercises! It can take any form, from a walk in the park to an energetic game. The trick is to find something that you enjoy - and that makes your heart beat a little faster. Weight-bearing exercises, such as walking, running and climbing will also strengthen your bones and delay the possible onset of osteoporosis.
  • It helps you feel good. Being physically active may Help you control your weight, build lean muscle, and reduce your body fat. Strengthen your bones. Increase flexibility and balance.
  • Avoid Smoking! There are many reasons for that. Especially it's one of the main causes of bad breath and can cause tooth staining, gum disease and tooth loss. Smokers are at greater risk of oral cancer, lung cancer as well as throat cancer. Find friends who don't think drugs are the only route to having fun.  
  •  Maintain Good Mental Health! Physical activity plays an important role. Spending time in the natural environment has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. It can also boost self-confidence, self-image and even your mood. Friends and family can provide essential support to maintain your mental health. Be free to communicate with them.
  •   Remember also to drink plenty of water - 6 to 8 glasses is generally considered sufficient, but if you're exercising hard or the weather is particularly warm, you'll need to drink more.
  •  Don’t be overweight. Many teens turn to unhealthy dieting methods to lose weight, including eating very little, cutting out whole groups of foods, skipping meals and fasting. These methods can leave out important foods you need to grow. “Breakfast is must”
DO NOT FORGET:
 
Change Occurs Slowly… Old habits are hard to break and pay more attention when you bring out changes in to your life style.
  •  Make changes slowly. Do not expect to change your eating or activity habits overnight
  •   Look at your current eating and physical activity habits and at ways you can make them healthier.
  • Set a few realistic goals for yourself.
  • Identify your barriers.
  • Be positive and know that you can do it.

And finally, enjoy your life, live sensibly and you'll increase your chances of enjoying good health!
